About: Hi, I'm Kaya! I love the outdoors and animals, and I want to become a veterinarian or a botanist. Dogs and horses are my favorite animals, and I love western riding with my horse, Steps High. I recently moved to Seattle from Oregon when my dad got a job working for Amazon. I tend to be kind of quiet, but I'm not afraid to speak up, and my friends say I'm the most level-headed of all of us.
Some of my favorite activities include hiking and trail riding. I'm very proud of my Nimiipuu heritage, and I often participate in powwows. Other things I love are western-style shirts, boots, logo t-shirts, jeans, icy shades of purple and blue, just about any shade of green, science and math, country and rock 'n' roll music, horse movies and books, Marvel and DC superheroes, cosplay and LARPing, and sci-fi and fantasy books and TV shows. I have also recently been introduced to Pokémon and anime. I also love photography and traveling.

Things that annoy me: Stereotypical and/or “Generokee” portrayals of Native Americans, people who think I should be wearing a deerskin dress and living in a tipi because I never left the 1700s, poison ivy, bee stings, mosquitoes, getting cold water in my shoes, and people who think equestrian sports aren’t “real” sports because “the horse is doing all the work.” Sorry, friend, but if you’ve ever tried to ride a horse (and I mean really ride), you’d know that wasn’t true. Also, I hate fringe on almost all items of clothing, unless it's a) on authentic Native regalia (or historical clothing) or b) on formal western riding clothes (e.g. chaps).

*I decided that modern Tatlo was a hybrid because he looks a lot like a friend’s dog who is a domestic dog/coyote hybrid. Kaya rescued him from the shelter as a puppy.
